Press Release – “Choose Blackrock” Promo Videos Get Over 135k views
Blackrock Tourism and Development Group have officially launched the #ChooseBlackrock marketing campaign in conjunction with The Digital Bakery this Christmas. This campaign is aimed at supporting a #shoplocal campaign for Blackrock Businesses this year inviting people to “Choose Blackrock” for excellent food, relaxed shopping and beautiful views. This campaign is running across Website, Social, Posters and Radio and is supported by the Governments Town and Village Renewal Scheme. The campaign includes 5 videos showcasing some of the local businesses of Blackrock as well as the destination itself at Christmas time. These videos have been hugely popular having had over 135,000 views in just one week.
Chairperson Aine Corcoran said “2020 has been an extraordinarily difficult year for businesses so we are putting a special call out to the Blackrock Community to stay local & support their village retailers, hospitallers & service providers to #ChooseBlackrock & #shoplocal this year in our village. Most businesses in Ireland are small and personal with less than 5 people employed. Running a business is hard work it means taking risks making sacrifices and putting a lot back into the community by way of supporting clubs, schools, charities and students . Our local businesses see their community as more than just a source of revenue – so let’s support them this Christmas and #shoplocal to brighten up their year and keep the village as vibrant as they have made it.”

All videos were shared with the Visit Blackrock team. The longer promo video was also shared with all businesses to share on their social media.
Graphics were created using a similar theme to main poster but adapted for social media ensuring the campaign was fluid across all platforms.

As a resource for all businesses we created a campaign strategy plan that was shared with the businesses members. The plan contained the following:
Timeline for the campaign / suggested actions / campaign assets / details about the videos & ads / Tips for accessing and sharing the content / ideas for their own content plans & guidelines for using campaign templates.
We delivered 2 X 1 hour training sessions over zoom. One at the start of the campaign and 1 hour in week 2. A recording was made of both sessions and shared with all business members.
