Facebook Creator Studio companion App Spotlight - Blog Post Cover by The Digital Bakery Creative Agency in Dundalk Louth

App Spotlight – Facebook Creator Studio

Facebook creator studio is one of our favourite tools to use here in The Digital Bakery.  It gives us insight into how our campaigns are performing. If offers helpful tips on how to improve performance (Tied in with the amazing Facebook Blueprint learning tool). It even allows us to create and schedule posts for both Facebook and Instagram.  And this week Facebook has launched the Companion App.

Facebook has said of the app “The app is an evolution of and mobile complement to Creator Studio, the desktop hub dedicated to helping creators and publishers manage their content, track performance, and connect meaningfully with their audiences on Facebook. The new experience offers the same actionable insights and meaningful engagement metrics, all from the ease of a mobile device“.

So we hurriedly downloaded the app to our devices here in the office and here are our thoughts so far.

The interface is super easy to understand and the highlights section will interest those who want to keep a close eye on their post-performance.  The dominance of video related statistics makes us more inclined to recommend this to influencers or vloggers to see just how long their fans are engaging with their output.

However, the app still has a number of limitations.  Users cannot create new posts within the tool. They must first create these as drafts or schedule them within the native desktop site.  They can alter posting times of scheduled posts but there is no sign yet of Instagram integration which is our favourite feature on the native desktop version.

As of right now, it is a neat app for most users who manage a Facebook page.  It will give clear and easy to digest insight into your video performance (up to 90 days at a time) which may be of particular interest to vloggers and influencers.  Hopefully, Facebook will add additional features such a post creation and Instagram integration in the future to help the app reach its full potential.
